@@Socialmediachat using iPhone or android? iPhone, should automatically bypass the internal mic. Check gain level on iRig. Set to 2-3.

@BrianDaggett Android . That bad feedback was from the charger when charging the phone . Can it not work properly while charging

@@StevenHoaks so when you do a test on the regular phone video and it sounds the same as the phone mic, it is not connecting. I’ve had this problem before. I would recommend restarting the phone, hook up the iRig, then open the camera app and record video. Also try some sound checks with the voice recorder app. Be advised, there are defective units out there. So if you continue to have issues connecting then contact the seller and get a replacement unit. In theory, the irig should connect and immediately bypass the phone mic. Good luck.

@@BrianDaggett Thanks. I am using Android myself and in Android you need to change setting if you want external mic or phones mic. It wount give you the option if its not connected. If its connected badly then it will be silent complitely. I tried with iPhone also but same sound. Just dull and dead like mono. iPhone bypasses the mic automatically

@@BrianDaggett I also tried without iRig with just TRS -> TRRS adapter straight to the phone but guality is same.

@@medallion39 I actually owned one. It was a beautiful drum. I should have hung onto it but sold it. I still have my 70s Acrolite though.

@@jamie1114 so what I found with that issue is 1 it could be the setting on the phone. 2 settings within the app or 3 a bad unit. Yes there are some bad ones out there. Usually it’s just a simple plug and play unit. Try it through the video camera on the phone instead of an app. Hope that helps.

@@jamie1114 yeah I use the adapter lightning to 8th inch female and I had a 13 as well that it would work on all the time. So I don’t know it might be the adapter.

@@EugeneTay-ys1lo there are different kinds of apps out there that will let you remove certain instrumentation of a song. “Moises” is one for example. I personally don’t use any of them. I just track drums on top and blend them in leaving mine a little bit more in the front of the mix.

@@joeydurham3493 no worries. So what I usually do is put it all the way to the max and then roll it off one or two times and check it.

@@BrianDaggett I rolled all the way to gain and buzzing stoped unless I didn't do it right rolling towards the arrow what does that do

@@joeydurham3493 towards the arrow means more gain. If you have a buzz it might be coming from the output of your interface or mixer. (Wherever the signal is coming from)

@@BrianDaggett i’m gonna take a guess here and I think it’s coming from my board microphone is almost at 10 DB so another words it’s almost to max volume. I’m on microphone setting main volume is at 12 o’clock. All my gain is at 12 o’clock so my friend, I think microphone might be my problem again based on what I know about sound and what you know about sound, let’s put two and two together here. Could it be that the microphone level is too high causing it to buzz? I’ll test I’ll get back with you until then. You can reply to this my love is going to be late tonight, but I have it perfect thanks buddy.

@@coutinhoudi honest opinion, I actually like it a lot! I don’t have a lot of metal snare drums in my collection so I feel like this one can fit in with the rest as far as versatility. Definitely has a nice crack to it, but I can also tune it low and it sound just as good. Overall, definitely worth the money!! Tama is doing great things with their SLP line and so far I’ve been impressed with everything!

@@joeydurham3493 if you have a balance cable like the one I show you in this video you will be fine. Even if it is mono, it will split the signal right and left for all your listeners to be able to hear you in stereo. I would not worry.

@@BrianDaggett i’m not sure what that is the only thing I ordered with the two rigs because I bought one I got one free. I ordered an apple lightning adapter looks just like the white Apple cord that you have in your video I think it’s the same one it’s a dongle or dongle or something like that.

@@joeydurham3493 no problem! These are very easy to use. 1st - find an output on your console or whatever your sound is coming out of ie: mixer, controller, interface. You can you a headphone output as well. 2nd - using a balanced 1/4 inch to 1/4 inch cable, take the iRig2 and connect it to your output. (Where the sound comes from) You will plug the other end of the cable into the iRig where the “guitar” icon is. 3rd - the iRig has a 1/8 inch cable connected to it. That is the part you will plug into your phone. You will either use an adapter dongle for iPhone 12 and higher or if you have android you might have a headphone port on the phone. 4th - simply adjust the gain on the iRig ( it’s labeled) and run a couple sound checks with you “video” function on your phone. Just to make sure you aren’t clipping or distorting.

@@BrianDaggett I was planning to buy an iRig and I saw people saying that it can't work on android devices unless they have the Ctia wiring standard, so I don't know if the Redmi Note 11 has Ctia, if it doesn't, I shouldn't buy it.

@@eldobavrk8706 most cell phone headphone jacks are also mic inputs. That’s how an iRig would work. So if you have the option of having a earset with microphone, then it should work.

@@nickbirkby2521 that’s awesome!!! There’s a simple fix to that problem. It could be a little tedious, but you can replace the insert inside of the lug. That’s the part the screw actually screws into. And replace the bad screws as well. I’m excited for you! Thanks for checking out the video!

You might have a defective unit. I’ve had that problem before too. I would reach out to IK multimedia and see about getting a replacement. So far I haven’t had any issues with the iPhone 12 13 or 15. If you’re not getting any audio at all, it might be an issue with the unit.
